Alabaster Ladies Ministry started as a two-day conference in 2012 hosting a few ladies for a day’s session and a luncheon the following day. The focus was to create a platform for mentorship of younger ladies and foster interactions between older and younger women across the board. After two years, the ministry started hosting a week-long conference to support the growing need and build a mentorship platform.
The conferences now include various programs such as teachings and a professional breakfast to cater to the working class; health and aerobics sessions to ensure women are taking care of their health; girl talk session to deal with relationship matters that are pertinent to women; and precious memories where the elderly ladies within the church share their salvation stories with the younger ones mimicking the stories around the fireplace.
In 2020 during the lockdown, Alabaster held the first online session which boosted the number of women attending the conference and introduced our online global family. Because the mode of delivery of ministry had drastically changed, the ministry rose to the challenge and has since held hybrid sessions to encourage participation from all over the world.
This change in the modification of delivery resulted in a shift in the ministry giving rise to the mentorship [1] department which hosts ladies in annual mentorship cohorts.
In 2023, we launched the Teens session [2] to cater to the younger generation (as a ministry we are committed to forming mentorship groups amongst teenagers that will be beneficial for their age group). During that same year, we hosted our first quarterly fellowship to continue to provide a platform for women to interact with one another.
Our 2024 annual conference was successfully held in August attracting ladies from all corners of the world. We hosted various programs including an overnight session, Sunday services, daily teachings, girl talk session, an evening of worship, a professional breakfast and a luncheon.
